"Insert Name Here" Contest 1 Write up...

We started off with a mega heat that was mainly just free skim. Lasted bout 20-30 minutes. Then we split it up and had two semi-finals. Everyone advances in our just 4 fun. The first semi was with the "locs" it went like this

Heres little write up of the "insert name here" contest?

First thanks to everyone that came out, we hope you had a great time and enjoyed the food, shirts and prizes. The vibe was definitely great out there and the weather was beautiful.

Aight so after a long night of drinking at thornhill we manage to wake up and get down to escon by around 7am. as were coming down the stairs we see a skimmer out there. Mr. Teddy Parker first one out there training his ass off getting ready for his showdown. The conditions were eh at this time but got better through out the day. we started skimming and saw the skimmers comin in slowly. As everyone was coming the free skim pretty much just turned into a mega heat. We then split up the heats into a pro division and "locs" division.

This was pretty much the semi finals. They had bout 20 minutes and it was still funs and games during their heats. other skimmers can still skim around but wasn't all serious cuz this was just 4 fun. The "locs" went first. Christian was absolutely killing it during this heat, super consistent and was getting some nice rides. Morgan was also skimming good all day, he even went switch, but also had such a great fall that the beach was speechless when he face planted on his board! Will also getting in the line with some rides. Then the Pro heat went down and fuj showed up with his pro'ness and was techin all day. Teddy also throwin in some tech and taylor squeezing some rides in.

After the semi finals we all ate free hot dogs, about 32 of them! the skimmers were then told what the standings were from the semi's. Then out in the yonder the waves were getting nice and the sun was beaming. it was time to trunk it and some more free skim. The finals then started when the conditions were good and the "locs" went first with a 25 minute heat. The finals we got a little serious and no one else was allowed to skim around the competitors so they can enjoy the conditions. The "locs" division went down and out of nowhere like a little freak russian curly man denis showed up with his riding. Morgan also turning it up a little towards the end of the heat to keep his solid second place. Christian just didnt get as many waves. The pros went down with a 23 minute heat, got creative and had a celebrity appearance by king kevin and he got into the mix. Kevin just absolutely killing it out there showing up from filming all day. extra points were called for anyone getting close to the kayak out there and kevin charged that shiit with a ride around them into 3rd place. Teddy and Fuj were trying to see how long they can keep their hair dry but that wasn't long till teddy got a sick ass ride down the line and after that he was murdering it and knocked fuj down into second.

After the finals we gave out everyone free contest shirts for coming and handed out prizes like square pads, radios, kites, 99 cent condoms, basket, more shirts, magazines, VHS, and a cigg. We then just chilled, medicated, and relaxed. Will also got a hundred dollar square gift card for 4th place.

Heres a quicky update that cold front was passing through and u can definitely see it this morning out in the yonder, it was still another beautiful day weather wise. winds were nice and calm, little offshore at times. Escondido is having a nice slope and there is nice potential but the damn tide was waay to high. leo has lots of sand so theres no slope, its weird there right now, Zeros was looking doable with the little swell this morning, but i dunno how its gonna be with the bigger swell. westward this morning was aight, little florida like, but nothing a little running cant do. Little sprinkle maybe friday but not sure yet. saturday is suppose to be nice with swell, but the dub is gonna be varible, nothing bad though, probably just some side texture. With the swell filling in tomorrow ill get another check out on the beaches. see u soon.

Update: Conditions

Aight so time for a little condition update. ill go into FIRM detail for some of you special people As of today we have a beautiful forecast of nice High pressure but wont be here for long. We got some low pressure coming in bringing in two troughs. Coming from the NW kinda WNW area. The first one is pretty far out so the wind swell will cancel out and hopefully just bring in ground swell for this wed into thursday. The second front as of now is not looking very promising. This one is going to be wet so we might get some rain this friday. Saturday (contest) though if everything goes through as forecasted, we could be seeing some fun skim, probably around waist. So what does that mean?? With the predicted direction of the incomingz escondido might be a prime spot for this swell..... buuuuttt. if swell doesnt come through as strong as predicted, were gonna need more nw exposure so westward (if small swell) or maybe strip... i still need to check that sand out at strip. tides gonna be too high for mugu in the AM. Well whats looking good now? This morning was beautiful, sunny with niice calm off shores. Westward was clean but closed out a bit with the high high tide. Escondido was a damn lake, and leo was just flop. Of course it was reallllly swampy this morning with the tide swings, but westward as always, held its ground on minimal swell and still had fun this morning. So if the conditions are anything like today on saturday, westward be it... BUT saturday is still a bit away so anything can happen. More updates to come, tomorrow, thursday, and friday

"Insert Name Here" Contest? Just 4 Fun UNO!

Aight so putting together a "just for fun" contest. All types of riders are welcome. Depending on the number of people, the number of heats will be decided. As of now the date is set for november 21, 2009 around 8-9am. No comfirmed spot yet, but it will be in the malibu/ventura area (pending of conditions). We will keep this thread updated with condition pictures and updates. More details will be posted later as well as a sign up sheet. you can either sign up early, or sign up at the beach. If have any questions PM me, Rene Gonzalez, or Taylor Cadiz. This is the first of more to come.
